Time Equities Inc. believes in contemporary art exhibitions in non-traditional spaces. 310W is extending this belief by commissioning permanent art installations to reflect the building’s dramatic presence in downtown Milwaukee. By putting artwork in public areas, 310W works to involve the community and enliven the environment in nontraditional ways.
TEI is committed to enriching the experience of our properties through the Art-in-Buildings Program, an innovative approach that brings contemporary art by emerging and mid-career artists to non-traditional exhibition spaces in the interest of promoting artists, expanding the audience for art and creating a more interesting environment for our building occupants, residents and their guests.
The most recent addition is mutopia 2 by Claudia Chaseling, which was Chaseling’s first permanent installation art piece as well. The piece is located on the Mezzanine level close to the parking vestibule at 310W. Chaseling’s abstracted imagery presents a potential “mutopian future,” that references the possible environmental effects from nuclear weapons and technology used today. This piece is the first of many to be showcased at the building.
